Privacy policy

The short version

We don’t collect any of your data. Your photos never leave your iPhone. No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking.

Who we are

Dump That Pic is made by an independent developer in the United Kingdom. If you have any question about privacy, email support@dumpthatpic.com.

Your photos and videos

The app asks for access to your photo library so it can show you your photos to sort. Everything happens on your iPhone: your photos and videos are never uploaded, copied to a server, or shared with us or anyone else.

If your photos are stored in iCloud Photos, Apple Photos may download them from iCloud so the app can show them. That happens between your iPhone and Apple; we never see them.

When you choose to dump photos, the app asks Apple Photos to delete them. They move to your Recently Deleted album, where Photos keeps them for 30 days unless you empty it. If you save an enhanced copy of a photo, it is saved to your own library.

What the app stores on your phone

To remember your progress, the app keeps a small file on your iPhone with your keep/dump decisions, your stats (such as how much space you’ve freed) and your settings. It never leaves your device except as part of your own iPhone backup, and it is removed when you delete the app.

Maps and place names

If you open the photo map, or look at the details of a photo that has a location, the app uses Apple Maps to draw the map and to turn the photo’s location into a place name. Those requests go to Apple, not to us, and are covered by Apple’s privacy policy.

Reminders

If you turn on reminders, they are scheduled on your iPhone. No server is involved.

Purchases

Any purchase is handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, payment details or Apple ID.

This website

This site uses no cookies, analytics or trackers, and its fonts are hosted here rather than by a third party. It is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security; see GitHub’s privacy statement.

If you email us

We use your email address and message only to reply to you, and delete them once they are no longer needed.

Children

Because the app collects no personal data, it collects none from children either.

Your rights

We hold no personal data about you from the app, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You can still contact us with any question, and you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
